Reading in Room 10

In Term 1 reading in Room 10 will focus on learning 'What good readers do?' We will learn about some of the strategies that good readers use. We will use fiction and non-fiction texts to learn the strategies of - Activating prior knowledge,predicting,questioning and inferring.

We enjoy reading our library books and the books Mrs Hammond reads to us. We have lots of discussions about new and interesting words from our readers, journals, library books and the newspaper.

We all try to remember our new vocabulary and to use it in our writing. We know words like columns and pillars, they are used to hold up the roof in a Greek temple.
