Mathmatics in Room 10

In Term 1 we learnt about numbers and how they work. We are continuing to use numbers all the way to 1,000,000. We skip count, learn our basic facts and say numbers before and after.

During Term 1 we  worked on addition and subtraction, we learnt to use our 'Friend 10' to help us solve equations. We used place value and other strategies to help us as well.

We play 'Salute" a game with cards, it helps us get quicker at our basic facts.

In Term 2 our focus is fractions for Weeks 1-4 after that we will return to addition and subtraction. Some of us are ready to improve our strategies in multiplication and division.
