Reading

We are fantastic readers in room 17 as we have all grown so much with our reading skills but the year is not over yet! 

We will continue to get to read a variety of texts and genres as we work on our understanding, by honing our skills with inferring; reorganising, evaluating and summarising texts; giving an opinion; skimming and scanning; finding meanings of a word/s or a phrase in the text and so much more!!

You can help your child with their reading by:

* reading together - either your child reads to you or you read to your child

* talk about the story that has been read

* visiting the library to get out books (free to join)
