Mathematics

Mathematics in Room 6 is fun.  We love playing the games from our Maths Group Box.  Its such a fun way of learning.  We share equipment, help others and work co-operatively.  This term we are focusing on Numeracy and Statistics. We have been working on recalling basic number facts to help us solve addition and subtraction problems.  We have also continued working on building our number knowledge.  Here are some of the learning intentions we have been working on

*  count  forwards and backwards to 100.

*  instantly say the number before/after a given number in the range 1 - 100..

 *  skip count by twos, fives, and tens to 100 .

*  recognise pace value in two and three digit numbers.

In statistics we have been learning to collect data by using tally marks, present the data on different types of graphs and discuss the result of our investigation.  We have been working with picture graphs and bar graphs.
