literacy

In room 15 we are really focused on literacy. The children read to the teacher, at their instructional level. They will take the book home for parents to listen to and assist if required. Please record this into their reading log. 

Children also will bring home a word-book ( lists of basic words) that they need to read to parents too. Each Friday we will have a spelling test from the same lists of words. Our home-work book is another thing that comes home to support our learning. The word of the day is written in it. Children will practice writing and reading it repeatedly. There are also some maths activities in their home work book to support children's maths. Please make sure to sign their home work book every night.
